Study Names Texas Second Best State For Business

CNBC conducted a study to find out which state is the best place to do business. Texas came in second.
The study took ten economic and business development factors into account and weighted them before comprising the list.
Texas ranked very high in technology & innovation, infrastructure and economy – ranking #1 in both infrastructure and economy. Quality of life (ranked 37) and education (27) were Texas’ biggest shortcomings according to the study.
Georgia edged out the Lone Star State for the #1 spot, an honor held by South Dakota last year. Utah, Nebraska and North Carolina rounded out the top five. Georgia received their highest marks for infrastructure, workforce and economy.

Things may change for Texas next year. Texas boasts four of the best business cities of the future according to this Business Insider article. Austin ranks #1 with Houston, Dallas and San Antonio all in the top 15.
